Exotic Pet & Small Mammal Care

From hamsters to parrots, small companions deserve the same thoughtful care as any dog or cat. We offer exams, wellness care, and avian grooming for select exotic pets.

Select Species

We see select small mammals and exotic pets. Not sure about yours? One quick call and we'll let you know.

Avian Grooming

Wing trims, nail trims, and beak trims keep your bird comfortable, safe, and healthy.

Honest Referrals

When your pet needs advanced specialty care, we coordinate referral to a trusted exotic specialist.

Why It Matters

Why Exotic Pets Need a Vet Too

Birds, hamsters, and other small companions are wired to hide weakness. By the time an exotic pet looks sick, they've often been sick for a while, and that's exactly why regular care matters:

Prey Animals Hide Illness

Small pets mask symptoms instinctively, so subtle changes deserve a closer look.

Small Patients, Gentle Handling

Exams are adapted to delicate bodies and stress-prone species, with calm, careful hands.

Habitat & Diet Matter

Many small pet problems start with husbandry. We help you fine-tune the setup at home.

A Baseline Saves Lives

Regular visits establish what's normal for your pet, so we can catch changes early.

What We Offer

Care for Your Exotic Companion

We focus on the everyday care that keeps small companions healthy and comfortable:

1

Wellness Evaluations

Head-to-tail exams for select small mammals and exotic pets, adapted to each species.

2

Wing Trims

Careful, appropriate trims that keep your bird safe without compromising balance or confidence.

3

Nail Trims

Overgrown nails make perching and walking uncomfortable. Quick trims keep little feet healthy.

4

Beak Trims

When a beak overgrows or wears unevenly, a professional trim restores comfortable eating and preening.

5

Husbandry & Diet Guidance

Practical advice on habitat, nutrition, and enrichment tailored to your pet's species.

6

Specialist Referral Coordination

For advanced diagnostics, surgery, or complex treatment, we connect you with a trusted exotic specialist.

Honest About Our Limits

We don't provide advanced avian or advanced reptile medical care, and we'd rather tell you that upfront. When your pet needs a specialist, we help coordinate the referral so nothing falls through the cracks.

Common Questions

Exotic & Small Mammal Care FAQs

What exotic pets and small mammals do you see?
We provide exams and wellness care for select small mammals and exotic pets, along with avian grooming services. Because every species is different, the easiest way to know if we can see your pet is to give us a quick call at (770) 520-8700.
Do you treat birds?
Yes, we offer wing trims, nail trims, and beak trims along with general wellness evaluations for birds. We don't provide advanced avian medicine, and when a bird needs that level of care we coordinate referral to a trusted exotic specialist.
Do you see reptiles?
We don't provide advanced reptile medical care. If your reptile needs specialized diagnostics or treatment, we're happy to point you toward a trusted exotic specialist so your pet gets the right care quickly.
How often should my small mammal have a checkup?
Small mammals have short lifespans and age quickly, so an annual wellness visit is a smart baseline for most. A checkup also gives you a chance to review diet and habitat, which is where many small mammal health problems start.
What should I bring to my exotic pet's first visit?
Bring your pet in a secure, covered carrier, plus notes on their diet, habitat setup, and anything that has changed recently. Photos of the enclosure help a lot, since husbandry plays a big role in exotic pet health.
